To add a new announcement:

On the module menu, click Add New Announcement (Figure 1):

On the Announcement Settings page (Figure2) set the following settings as needed:

Title - Enter a title for the announcement. 

Description - A brief description or paragraph about the announcement.

Link Type - What type of link content do you want to link to.
      None - Announcement will not be linked to any content.
      URL - Link to another website. Click for instructions.
      Page - Link to another page on your site. Click for instructions.
      File - Link to a file uploaded to your site. Click for instructions.

Link Options - Additional settings for the link.
      Track Number Of Times This Link Is Clicked? - Turns on Site Log auditing for the link.
      Log The User, Date, And Time For Every Link Click? - Additional auditing information.
      Open Link In New Browser Window? - Opens a new browser window to display link content.

Publish - The date to publish the Announcement on. The Announcement will only display from this date.

View Order - If you want to sort other than by the Title alpha order then enter a value to sort by. Numbers work well but any announcements with blank values will always show first.

Once all values have been set click on the Update link located at the bottom of the page.
